EATING HEALTHY AND RIGHT TO FEEL GREAT AND LOOK GREAT: A Journal Entry of a One Week Weight Loss Journey

June 7, 2012

I’m at home with Mom preparing for the BIG garage sale. This morning I woke up great, got in a 1.5 mile walk and had an over easy egg and sausage pattie along with my daily multi-vitamins. After stressing out about not knowing what to do, I decided to coroporate with Mom and help her out. Well that happened 2 small personal pizza’s and 2 ½ hours worth of tv, LATER. Let’s just say to get me going you have to find what I like to do and make it interesting. SO after watching Design Star on HGTV I got the inspiration to re-take my messy basement and create into something I would be proud of. Soonly after my mom got on board we were on a roll. Cleaning, reorganizing, and catching up. 4 short hours later we were done, with an almost new remodoled basement. Suprisingly I was not craving food that entire time. I realize when I’m doing stuff I love, food doesn’t come to mind. That was before, my mom showed up with On the Border Steak Fajitas and chips and salsa. Around 2000 calories later, I regret even letting myself have one taco. I go upstairs to go to bed and realize the extra fat my tummy was holding. Less than 14 hours ago I looked skinny as a stick before my walk, now is a totally different story. Tomorrow I will change, for sure, I will not forget to not eat so much and eat healthy. Well, I better wish myself good luck because this 122 pound girl doesn’t feel like she can lose the 7 pounds she wants by her first Monday Tennis Practice.

It’s been 8 days since my first ever journal entry. Honestly, I kind of forgot about it...Whoops! But, my eating right and exercising well was keeping up just fine! Right now I weigh 117 pounds. 8 days ago I weighed 122. That’s 5 pounds difference in 8 days, yeah, about 1 week! I am so proud of myself, I let myself splurge today by having 2 chocolate pancakes WITH SYRUP! AHHH! Well eating that around 10 a.m I didn’t need to eat a big lunch, in fact I skipped it. I helped my mom organize and calm down about her huge garage sale tomorrow. At 3:30 we decided to have an early dinner. One tip: for the past 8 days my mom and I have been eating before 6 every night! This helps because if you eat late, the food eaten sits in your stomach ALL night, when you eat earlier you have time to take a walk or even exercise before bed and burn the food off! So my mom and I tried this new restaurant Mod Market. We were lucky because the regular meal cost $10 and we had a coupon for buy one entree get one free.(Remember to always look online, paper, or ANYWHERE to see what coupons you can use to save money when going out. It can really make a difference in your overall costs of the month if you remember COUPONS CAN BE ONE OF YOUR BEST FRIENDS TO SAVING MONEY(when not overused buying unnecessary things, or more than you need). So anyways, I got the half sandwich, half salad and I got to say it was delicious! The chipotle steak sandwich with tomatoes, lettuce, and sauce was under 300 cals. and had a good source of protein. After the sandwich I was pretty full already, but I ate about ⅓ of the salad(romaine lettuce, cucs, parmesan cheese, and chicken/ little caesar dressing) and decided to save the other ⅔ for lunch tomorrow. Remember if you don’t finish your dinner/lunch there’s this great invention called a TO-GO BOX! So after that we went down to Sunflower market, got some beautiful lavender flowers for our porch, bread(Sprouted, Whole-Wheat Grain, with flaxseed), milk, and for a special treat for both our weight losses, yogurt flavored pretzels. So after reading these 2 journal entries 8 days apart I hope you realize that these 5 pounds really do affect my eating habits( more protein, healthy fats, I CAN EAT CARBS TOO, LOTS OF fruits and veggies, and portion control) and exercise( daily 30 min. relaxing yoga in the morning, workouts from Lauren Conrad’s Bikini Boot Camp Plan) that I really do feel better about my body, weight, and overall mood.
